(2 Cor 12:..."For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Cor 12:8-10) This is such an awesome teaching and a wonderful transformative tool but oh so difficult to do at times. I was in a church group the other day when we were talking about thankfulness. Someone suggested being thankful for the sunshine if nothing else was available. Yet it seems to me based on my experience that Jesus' instruction goes deeper than that, for He instructs us to be thankful even for our suffering. That is key to the teaching. it is a mistake to hole onto the more superficial understanding which would be that this scripture instructs us to be thankful only for what we perceive as the good. As He said, "My strength is made perfect in weakness." It is surely when we admit our suffering and weaknesses and choose to give our struggle up to God with gratitude that He can come in and heal our lives and situations.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
